01 你觉得我的新发型怎么样
How do you like my new hairdo?
关于“发型” ，比 hairstyle 更为口语化的一个说法就是 hairdo。
02 做头发，做指甲，化妆
I'm gonna do my hair/nails/makeup.
“我偶尔做一做指甲” 这句话要是一时间想不起用 manicure( I have a manicure occasionally)，直接用 do nails 就好了。

04 他不惜利用他人成就作为踏脚石
He was a man who traded on the achievement of others.
trade on 意思是“(为达到利己目的)利用”，当我们想说 “明明可以靠颜值” 是不是就可以借用 you could have traded on appearance.
05 能专业点吗？
Can you be more professional?
这里想引出的一个知识点是：professional 除了形容词，也可以作为名词，比如下面两个例句：
她从1996年2月开始就成了职业选手。
She had been a professional since February 1996.
我父亲想让我成为职业人士，这样能更稳定一些。My father wanted me to become a professional and have some more stability，
06 和工作有关的表达
我做过好几份工作
I have wore many hats —— xx, xx, xx ...
A person who can do many different things is often called a Jack-of-all-trades and is able to wear many hats. 能做多种不同事情的人通常被称为“多面手”，这类人能身兼数职。

07 他最终还是决定不告诉她
You finally decide on not telling her.
You finally decide against telling her.
这里想要提醒的是注意介词 on 和 against 的用法，比“女性在职场中经常遭到歧视”Women are discriminated against in the workplace.
08 那种颜色很难驾驭
That color is hard to pull off.
That color doesn't flatter most people.
Spectrum of colors：from “easy to wear” to “difficult to pull off”.
配色方案，色彩设计 ( color scheme )
说到论色彩的驾驭能力，非了不起的 Mrs Maisel 莫属，连最容易踩雷的“死亡芭比粉”也能穿出仙女的气质。刷部剧的时候，简直就是在看一场时装秀。
09 牛油果正合我的胃口
Avocado green is right up my alley.
Avocado green is to my liking.
当我们下次想表达“我就喜欢你这样性格的人，我就喜欢这种类型的电影，我就喜欢这种风格的穿搭，我就喜欢这种口味的食物”诸如此类的意思的时候就可以用到 right up my alley.
10 和“礼物”有关的表达
礼轻情意重
It's the thought that counts.
It's just a gesture, but it means a lot.
不能嫌弃人家礼物
上面这句话除了用 “nit-pick 挑三拣四”造句，英文中还有一个和“马”🐴 有关的表达 Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
11 灵活的 -ish
-ish 后缀接在时间、日期、年龄的词后面，表示“...前后的，..左右的”。
你多大了? 20来岁吧
I'm 20-ish.
我明天给你打电话，大概中午的时候
I'll call you tomorrow. Noon-ish.
我通常6点钟起床
I get up at 6-ish, usually.
你好像还挺开心的 You seem happy-ish
还行吧 I am ish.
你昨晚十点左右的时候人在哪里
Where exactly were you around 10-ish?
12 和考试有关的表达
通过 “Let's go through chapter one bofore I turn you loose”这句话延伸了几个考试有关的表达：
我一年级的时候数学挂过科
I flunked math in first grade.
18 个学生她就给了 13 个不及格。
She's flunked 13 of the 18 students.
我考的很好
I aced the test.
I passed it with flying colors.
